Bed tent

Has anyone had experiene with this bed tent before? It's $239 and seems pretty cool.

That is really cool. I could use one of those, even though I never go camping.

I have had one of these for four years and it has been great. I did some additional seam sealing and waterproofing when I received it though. I use it in the rain during fall salmon season quite a bit. It stands up to coastal wind pretty well, but anything sustained over 25mph does break poles after a while. Napier has replacements available real reasonable though, and no I was not driving around with it in place. Make sure to use the strap covers that come with it, or order them as an add on, this keeps the straps and buckles from rubbing on the paint. Overall I have been extremely satisfied with it.

They make them for a number of bed sizes. My 2000 was a long bed but I had a tool box behind the cab, so I purchased the 6.5' tent so I could still access the tool box, it worked out great. My 2010 is the 6.5' bed so I will need to remove the tool box when I use the tent now, but at least I don't have to buy a new one.

I had one for my '01 with a 6.5'..The first time, it took two of us about 15 mins..because we were figuring out where things went (easy and intuitive tho!)..unfortunately I sold the truck before I used it again. It was a Sportztruck brand..worked great. I still have it, thinking about seeing if it will work at all with the new 5.5 bed I have now.

I have one of the Sportz ones as well. Works pretty good, its a pain to setup but doesn't take more than 20 minutes. Unfortunately I've only gotten to use it once.

With two people you can put it up in about 5-10 minutes, depending on the conditions. I've put it up by myself a couple of times and it was a bit more of a challenge. Basically I put it together on the ground and lifted into the bed. It probably took me 15-20 min.
