Anyone know anything about this...

Saw a post from over on another site about not needing a spacer lift at all on our newer trucks. The poster claimed that Ford "had" to put the rake on these trucks to keep front ground clearance where it is. He then went on to say that you can just move the spring retainer to an additional groove that ford has put there. Thus lifting the front. How is it that nobody has discovered this. I can add the link to other site if anyone wants.

it was claimed to be for an 09-10 F150. I looked with a flashlight in the garage at mine and didn't see another groove but maybe I missed it. Very interesting anyway. I'd like to know if anyone has seen this too..

Interesting. I will have to check that out.

that F150beard guy seems to imply there is a retaining clip on the strut shaft that you can access after you compress the spring... similar to the Bilstein's maybe? Maybe thats why they took so long to introduce their own???

Wonder if the ford dealers have any insight???

The Raptors have 3 settings like that that you can use to level/raise the front. I think I would still use a leveling kit because when you adjust the shock you will effect the load on the springs and the amount of travel in the your suspension. My cousin did lifts for years and he said he thought I would be better off with a spacer and aligment than changing the shock setting.

I would be very interested in finding out if this adjustable shock is indeed true. I currently have a Tundra (which I just barely put the Bilstein leveling shocks on) that I am getting Lemon-Lawed. My next truck is going to be an F150 FX4 and one of the first things that I want to get done is the leveling kit. It would be soooooooooooooo awesome if all I had to do was compress the springs and move the clip up on the stock shocks.
Somebody please let us know if this is indeed possible!!!!!

I really dont think it is possible on the regular trucks. It might be possible on the raptor. That is what I can gather. I looked at my FX4 and I dont see how it could be true....but a leveling kit is still pretty cheap.

I have heard that it is on the Raptor. I will just end up going with the Bilstein or Rancho leveling shocks.

If the stock set-up has no adjustments then try Bilstein 5100 series. The are adjustable and from what I understand will last the life of the truck. I plan on putting these on my truck in the fall.
