Is it a LS?

Can you tell by the VIN # if a truck has a limited slip? I'm looking at an '09, but there is no way I'm suffering through another truck with an open diff. VIN is 1FTPX14V59FB25382.

No, not in the VIN. You can look at the axel code on the drivers door jamb. It will be two digits, if starts with a letter, such as B9 it is LS. If two numbers it is open. Look in the index of the Articles and How To section and you will find a VIN decoder that has all the gear ratios, etc. listed.

Not LS.

Cut and paste the following into your browser, then add your VIN at the end of the string, and press enter. You will get the window sticker which will tell you everything.

services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin=[your VIN here]
