adding keyless entry handle
Same here. I remember reading a post where someone tried it because the wiring was in place in the door, but they only thing that worked was the backlight on the keypad.
It seems that if the code is included, then the module is equipped to support it. Mine also has a card. I am just speculating at this point.

i am trying to find out if i can add this option on mine after-the-fact. my bro works for the dealer. he looked in the door panel today and found a gray wire that was capped. he thinks that is the one. we will see. i will post when i find out something.
update:
my brother installed it for me this afternoon. if you received a code from the dealer, the module is already in the truck and it is pre-wired. you can find the gray wire in the door panel under the handle. it is gray and capped off. be careful when putting the new handle back in. my brother said with the new cable and the rod being attached, its like a chinese jigsaw puzzle trying to fit it all back into the hole. after re-installing your door panel, you are ready for programming. the process for programming is located in the owner's manual. my truck had an issue i hope you guys don't come across. my module had to be reassigned to my vin #. we thought the dealer had issued the incorrect code. we took it into ford and had them reassign it. a service tech should be able to do this for you at no charge, since they didn't program the module correctly. also, my brother said it is not uncommon for them to give you the wrong code. initially, we thought that was the problem, but like i said, it was the module being programmed for my vin#. good luck. oh yeah, it took about 2 hours with ride into his work and everything.

part numbers vary. i needed the black handle with chrome insert. they have a all black handle. i pay my brother's prices (which are a little above cost) so its hard to say what they actually run. when i went to pick up the part yesterday, they had the all black one ready for me. i told them i needed the one with chrome insert, and they had it the next day.
if they didn't give you a code, then you can add the other type which "sticks" to the exterior and works and is programmed the same as a remote.
I've had that code thing on my '04 and '09, never once used it. I have to say, the way they integrate it into the '10 Taurus is sweet. You can't even see it, but it's there for those who actually use it. Me, I find it easier to just hit the unlock button on my key fob. Keep in mind also, you don't want to be inputting a code anywhere where you are under surveillance, e.g. a mall parking garage. Someone gets that on video/camera... something to think about.

Perfect examples I would never have though of nor encountered in my own life. Very good!
Honestly for $135 i'd rather just have the dealer install it and do the work in case anything goes wrong. I'd like to throw it on there in case i have an idiot moment and lock the keys in the car and say i'm on vacation somewhere or just far from home.
