New Flame Blue

Greetings!

I traded in my 2001 XLT (GSA package) reg cab 4x4 yesterday for a 2010 XLT 4x4 SCrew, with the 5.4L, 3.55 rear and the regular tow package with brake controller, capt's chairs and a few other options I coulda gone either way on. I should have done a bit more research on the price, as I only got an 'OK' deal rather than a truly good one. But done is done, and I'm pretty happy with it. That is if they do a good job on Friday repairing the ding in the door I found after I signed all the paperwork. Note to self: never buy a vehicle during a rain storm again.

It'll be a small TT hauler for me, my wife, our 8 yr old boy, German Shepherd, and in about three weeks, our newborn boy. Looking forward to that ride home.

Talk to ya'll later!

B

Congratulations on the new truck and baby. No worries on the deal, like many I feel I got only a fair one but did not get took. The most important thing is I am very happy with my truck and it sounds like you are as well. Again Congratulations.

Rest assured your kids will be safer in the new truck than just about any other vehicle on the road... And comfy too! Congrats on the truck and the kid. I, too feal I got a "decent" deal, but probably could have done better if I'd waited a month, but I'm not upset as I still have a helluva truck. Post some pics!

So far so good. The ding was popped out perfectly on Friday. Just need to get the dime-sized paint chip repainted and it'll be GTG. Very happy with the ride, sound and power of this truck. My wife gets a kick out of the "courtesy wipe" that happens after using the windshield washer.

I usually leave the house before my 8 yr old is awake. The other morning, as I usually do, I went in his room and gave him a kiss on the forehead and said, "I love you, Boy." His groggy response .... "I love your truck, Daddy." Pretty much covers it.

Makes a mans heart swell, train him up right and he will inherit your appriciation for a fine Ford truck.

I teach my kids something about the trucks every time I do maintenence or repair. Helps them feel connected to the safety and personelization of the family transpertation.

My 14 year old daughter doesn't care much about helping me out when I'm wrenching, but my 6 year old daughter loves helping daddy wrench! She helped me tear down and rebuild my old 289 and then drop it last year... And she loves both my trucks!

Pics will haveta wait till after my wife finishes squirting out our second kid sometime today.

But I do have a quick question while I'm waiting... Is the back setback in a super crew fixed? I'm hoping there's a lever or something somewhere that will allow me to fold the setback down so I can better get at the window. Also what's the thin black strap anchored right in the middle for? Baby seat?

There is supposedly a lever behind the headrests but I have yet to figure it out. I saw a thread a few days ago but can't seem to find it now (probably because I've been at work all night and I'm exhausted). And as for the straps, I think they are for childseats, not sure how they wourk though since I havent loaded a carseat into my truck yet. There should be 3 total, the other two are probably tucked behind the headrests. You should probably get that figured out before you're wife "squirts out" the second kid. Haha. Congrats.
