Power Rear sliding glass install

Hey everyone! Just picked up a new leftover 09 F150 XLT with the regular back glass. I was trying to search and see if anyone had installed the rear sliding glass after the fact. I was wondering if the wiring was already there and all the mounting points for the motor and whatnot. I though i ran across a thread, but i can't find it for the life of me! I'm probably going to tear out the back and look myself and take some pictures tomorrow, but if someone already has, that would be cool.

I've already been scouring these forums for stuff and have already used a lot of information. Thank you in advance!

If you're going to all that trouble, you might as well add the rear sliding glass window with defrost! It was only available on the 2010's, not the 2009's, so be sure to get the correct pieces if you decide to do this.

I curious about this too. My truck does not have the sliding back glass and I wish it did. I want to follow this and see if it is something that I might want to do.

Well, to half-answer my own question, it appears that there is both a harness for the defrost and the window. Using an fords online diagrams, it looks like the wires for the window end at a harness in the roof and don't continue on to the harness that goes to the overhead console where the switch would be. Once i get more time, i will have to investigate that harness in the roof under the headliner. The defrost looks like I would only have to plug in a relay and a fuse and be in business, but i can't confirm that until daylight.

To make it easier get gear a 9mm gear wrench!!!!

a 9mm socket is too deep and a regular 9mm box end is slow. I replaced my solid window with a slider. If I had a 9mm gearwrench it would have been alot easier.

I believe (looking @ the wiring diagram) if you have power windows you have the wiring.

I also believe when you buy the power window, it comes with a switch and instructions to cut a hole in the dash to mount it (below headlight switch)

Any more info on this? I want to add a Ford power slider $369.00 from dealer. I don't have rear defrost. Talked to 2-dealers and 2-Auto glass intallers and got 4-different answers.

I'm not sure why i8iridium would need the rear defrost option. Not sure someone in Florida really needs it. FYI, the same switch controls the defrost on my heated mirrors. Also, on my '10 FX4, the slider control switch is located overhead in the sunglasses holder assembly near the rear view mirror.
