Sync or radio?

I don't know if it's sync or just the radio, but it no longer tells me the artist/song playing on local radio when I press the TEXT button. However, it does display when using the USB.

any ideas?

I think the radio station actually transmits that info. I don't think I've ever had a radio station tell me the track and artist.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the only way to get artist/track info while listening to terrestrial radio is when listening to HDRadio? I haven't seen anything about these radios being capable of recieving HDRadio? (I don't know for a fact as there are no HDRadio stations in this area).

Almost all radios now have RDS capability, but all that does is show the station call letters and/or format.

The station can transmit whatever message they want via RDS. Some show station call letters, some show artists.

Right some show it...some don't. The problem for me is none of my stations are showing it. It shows in my wife's car, but not in mine.

RDS might have gotten turned off or maybe your local stations have stopped sending the signals. With how many stations that are owned by large corporations it wouldn't be unusual for several stations to stop doing it at the same time if they are owned by the same corporation in the same market.

Mine all stpped sometime last year also. Was aggravating, but I just assumed I pushed something and still have yet to figure out what the heck I did. :o But if it was just all the stations not doing it anymore, makes me feel not stupid, because I can't find anything that would change that setting in my Platinum.
