Hard time
Hard time
I am in the market for a 2010 FX4, I had no clue it was going to be this hard to find one. I can find all the other models all day long. Why is it so hard to find them. I have search around my area and no luck. I guess I will either have to have one shipped to my local Ford store, order one if they are still taking orders, or wait a few more months and order a 2011.
I too had a hard time finding one in the color I wanted with the options I wanted. The dealership had to trade another for my truck. I had settle for a few things I really didn't want to pay for, but in the end I'm very happy with what I got. It was hard for me to believe that out of the 12+ Ford dealerships within the 80 miles form me only one truck came close to what I wanted.
Be carefull what you ask for?
Let someone else "Test" the new Engine first........leave your escape route open.
I was in that line waiting on what Ford called " The second comming of Christ" with the all new "Proven and Tested 6.0 L Powerstroke Engine"
I was one of the first to get one around here and we all know what a diaster that engine was!........Mine had the heads of twice before 100,000km ..2 Piezo Injectors and a Turbo. On the Powerstroke the Cab had to come off first to get the heads off as they are not removable from under the hood and every time there was a new squeek or rattle from somewhere that it didnt have before the cab was off?
I laugh every time a "Powerjoke" pulls up along side my F-150 as that owner has no idea what he is in for when the warranty has expired......$600 Injectors.....$4000 head gasket jobs.........$1500 Variable vane Turbos..................LOFL......LOFL........LOFL ........
a 5.4L wont steer you wrong........its proven and tested......

^^ x2 just traded in my 6.0 with 95,000 mi that I know had a head gasket leak for my F150. So glad to be away from the 6.0. My 03 expedition with the 5.4 has 97,000 miles still running strong as ever.
With new stuff comes some hefty price increases. I wouldn't be afraid to jump on a 2010 if you can find what you want.
Order one before the build out date arrives... I think it's coming up pretty quick. You can get everything you want and nothing you don't. might take a while to get it, but you'll be happy with what you will eventualy get.

How far are you willing to drive to purchase? I purchased my last vehicle from a dealer over 3 hours away. I arranged it all over the phone, had my own financing lined up, and made one trip to the dealer to pick it up. Spent about 15 minutes at the dealer.
Looks like there are a handful in Knoxville, Chattanooga, some closer to Memphis, some near Decator. If you are willing to come to Detroit, you can get just about any options/colors you want at great prices.
I'm not sure how the 6.0 Navistar engine fiasco relates to the Ford designed 5.0L, 6.2L, or Ecoboost that is already in production. I'm waiting for the new engines before upgrading.

Dont let the Brochure Dictate
Wait for real owners .......like the ones on this forum tell you what the engine is like in the real world including fuel consumption and driveability......
There have been far too many victims of the "POWERJOKE" Engine... but the brochure said they were "proven and tested" and the 6.4 was far superior to the 6.0 ........too bad you couldnt keep fuel in them......?
just imagine owning a 6.0 L with no warranty left on it ?...Scary!
