Remember the hefty commercial?

I saw a 4wd Tundra in the parking lot at the grocery store. I had to snap a pic.

In the back of my mind I heard the old Hefty trash bag commercial.

Hefty hefty hefty, wimpy wimpy wimpy, lol.....

He probably took the same picture and posted it on his Tundra forums.

I like the ground clearance. Tundra looks like a car.

Lol i never seen a tundra next to a new F150 as theirs none around my area but dam the F150 makes that thing look bad. It aint the size it's the awful styling that gets me. Whats with all the rounded bubble curves on that thing. Party like it's 1990.

Back in '07 when the new Tundra came out, I was on a Toyota forum like this one, and there was a member who claimed his wife worked for Toyota. He also claimed that basically Toyota went out and bought a Dodge Ram and pretty much reverse engineered the Tundra from that. Even when you look at the Tundra, it looks like a bloated Ram. You can see it in the grille, headlights, and step down front fenders that Dodge made so famous back in '94.

And when the first gen Tundra came out, it was easy to see that they had tried to copy the '97-'03 F150, just made it smaller. I guess like the old saying goes, can't beat em, join em!

If I couldn't see the grill and it was de badged I could mistake it for a Ram pretty easily if I wasn't paying too much attention.

I can see what you mean now after looking at it again after reading this. Never really thought about it until you said. it does look like a bloated Ram

"claimed" being the operative word there.

Indeed, but the resemblance is almost uncanny. It's not a stretch to believe it could be true.

Would have been better if it was the '02-'06 Ram.

And here's one with the First gen Tundra and F150

From what I understand, the Tundra was built with a 2007 F-250 Super Duty as its muse.

Holy **** you're right! They're practically identical! They even put the emblem in the center of the grille! And the fog light holes are in the same place!

Talking

That's EXACTLY what I was talking about waaay back when, when the first pics of the ram & refreshed 150 started floating around. The hideous sloping look of the front end of the ram and the tundra. Both trucks look as if they are drooping towards the ground, as if they are very sad with their tails between their legs. The only 2 trucks with upright grille's/hoods are the 150 and GMC (not silverado.... ugh). Who wants a truck that looks like it's bowing in submission to the other superior trucks on the road, the ones who hold their stance high and firm, proud to be tough.
