New Platinum Rocks

Well, I've had my Platinum for a few weeks now and just hit 1400 km. The tranny seems to be shifting better all the time which I am very happy about as this was one of my concerns when purchasing. I also do not notice the talked about delay when pulling out to pass. It takes off like a scared rabbit and I'm pleasantly surprised with the power. I only average 19L/100km but thats mostly city with my foot deep into her quite often. My 2007 GMC averaged 17.6 L/100 km over the three years I had it.
All in all I'm very happy with my first Ford. I just put weathertech mud gaurds on, which are very nice, I have line-x and a Bakflip tonneau, 3M chip gaurd on the front bumpers, hood and fender and will have it undercoated next week. What else should I do besides drive it?

Sounds like you are on the right track. I have Huskey Liners, Line-X and undercoating paid for buy the dealer. The only other thing would be remote start. It is really nice in the winter.

Yeah good call on the remote start. I think I'll get the Ford 6 button one this summer. I already have the weathertech liners.

If I could make a recommendation, I would stay away from the ford units and go with a Compustar or Viper (or another high end unit). We started buying the Ford units for our Fleet because it was easy to just order it at the same time(around 75 ford vehicles) and all of the guys that have them complain. Even my Ford dealer has switched to installing the Compustar's stating they don't suggest the Ford unit.

Good to know FFX4. I'll look into the Compustar.
Thanks

Get a remote starter that is a 2-way. I have a Clifford in my truck and I love it. When I press the start button, it signals back when it starts. Plus the range on it is really good. Plus I think the Clifford was cheaper than the Ford junk one and has more features!
