Subs Arrive Today - ? Abt Wiring Them Up

My new sub box, with amp, is arriving today. My brother is here to help me install it. Said I'll need a few things, like a LOC, before we get started.

Here's MY plan (he may want to vary from it but I thought this would do the trick without removing the radio from the dash)... run remote wire to fuse panel that has accessory power after car is shut off until door is open. Run power to battery. Ground next to fuse panel box. Wire speakers using door speakers off the rear of the truck. Run bass volume to front, near driver.

Seems like this might or might not work. Can anyone tell me which color wires are the rear speaker wires? That would save me from taking the door panel off and running wires through the boot.

Does anyone have a better way of doing this?

And how are you going to get the RCA's for the amp? You need a LOC or better yet a sound processor. Tie into the speaker wires inside the cab - not at the door.

You need to post more details on what you have currently - Nav or no? What amp/subs are you using? From what I read on your ideas, I wouldn't do it that way. Just my two cents.

Yeah- I'm sure that he mentioned I'd need to get a LOC and RCAs to attach it to the speaker wires. Where do I tap in to those wires? Do I need to take the door apart to get the wire color, or can I just tap in to them on their path back to the speaker? Or, must I connect at the radio itself? It would be nice to just tap in before it gets to the door.

The dash is much easier to take apart than 2 doors. Work from behind the radio. Plus, you would have to run wires back out of the door when you are done.
