I also have a feeling that the light colored leather is gonna look like hell in about 5 years with the crackng and deterioration. Looks nice now though!

I love the gray leather in my 09. I don't believe its an option in the '10's though. It also is not as light as that picture makes it look at least to me.

Thats funny, command start so the AC can cool the truck down!! I have a heated garage but lots of folks up here in Alberta use command start for HEATING the truck up!. I have been to TX and Key West so I understand your needs.

On the cloth on the 2010's: IS it as crappy for staining as say my 06 cloth? I am looking at a new truck when the 2011's come out. Prob get a new 2010 but not sure on the seat fabric. I know my 06 if you spill even some bottled water
on them , they stain and need to be shampooed. If the 2010's are the same then it will be leather for sure. Heated only not cooled

Yea I mainly wanna know how good the sport cloth is because i have leather in my explorer and it sucks. i try not to use A/C as well so thats why I want the opinions to see if its worth it. I wont be getting a remote start so no cooling the seats down.

H20,

The cloth in the 2010s is no quite as bad as the 2006, but close. I've had both. The 2006 was ridiculous, the 2010 not much better. I traded it and got leather and love it so far.

If you keep a clean truck, no kids, etc. I'd suggest the cloth. I've always bought leather for the easy ability to clean, and the look. That said, living in Key West you better plan on some serious tint. I just bought a 2010 FX4 with black leather, and it heats up pretty quick. We had 77 degree weather last week, and it was hot after sitting for 20 minutes or more. The front window is at more of an angle, allowing more sun in. You would probably tint the windows and use a sunscreen regardless right? If so, get the one you like the look and feel of better.

Don't let the leather be a deal breaker. It's nice, but I personally like the new cloth seats just as well. If I lived in Florida, I think cloth seats might be more comfortable.

I have a 2010 fx4 with black leather and red stitching and love it so far. It looks amazing, however i have yet to experience real hot weather in it yet... And as far as window tint being illegal, I had 15% on my tacoma and never had a cop question it

I love my 2010 FX4 black leather, but only had the truck for two weeks so no long term opinions. I also have dark tint too...

Thanks for the responses. But I ended up getting a FX2 without leather.

If it helps I am in Hawaii. I have leather in my FX4 and love it. I gets a bit hot at times but not intolerable. When it comes to the sand ans salt it cleans a great deal better than the cloth.

The black leather interior with the carbon fiber look dash inserts is what drawed me to the FX4. I didnt like the wood grain on the Lariats or the Platinums! You will not go wrong with the Luxury package. I think I got another $1000.00 with that package!

I live in South Florida and I have black leather in my Screw. It gets VERY hot and humid down here and have no issues with the leather. I recently got my windows tinted at 15% and it keeps my leather nice and cool.

Im happy with my non leather. I had leather in my explorer and hated it down here. the interior already gets hot enough with the black dash and black interior accents. I do need to get the front windows tinted and a strip across the windshield. I need to get a sunscreen as well. My truck sits right along the water during the day and the leatehr would get hot no matter what down here.
