But remember the 2009 F150. They didn't release power number until the ordering guides had been out for quite a while. Guys were ordering blind. Just said TBD.

However IF the order guide has the 6.2L available than we know its between 385 & 405 hp so no biggie. Even if it keeps the SD cam, it gets the E fan (SD not) and will rated differently than the over 8,500 gvw SD 6.2.

Ecoboost will be @ +/- 400/400, but 5.0 is a little more unknown.

I don't know how any of this would be "shocking". We all know they will migrate to the 5.0 and 6.2 eventually.

We've has the same basic engine for 7 model years now. In my book these changes when actually confirmed will be shocking. But thats just me.

Ummm, no, the only ppl who know that the 5.0 and 6.2 are coming to the F150 later this year are guys like us on this forum and other car sites! Keep in mind, this is not making national news headlines so the avg person in America has no idea what is coming down the pike. So, I agree with Power Kid...

As a side note, you could "maybe" even go back to Jan '96 when the '97 models were released with the 4.6 and 5.4 2V's...

So this is BIG news!

I'm just saying that if Ford goes with another engine in a product that shares an engine base with another, you know they will all go that way eventually, just like they did with the 4.6. It has been out there for a while now that the new Mustang will have the 5.0. Nobody should be surprised that this engine will go into their other products that used to have the 4.6.

I know I'm looking to buy a new F-150 but I'm not in a big hurry so if I know the 5.0 and 6.2 are coming down the pipe for 2011 I'll hold off...FX4 with the 6.2 ????
