Man, if the FoMoCo's engineers can't prevent water from leaking in those two little spots, I can't imagine having a sun-roof. People will be drowning.

I've had my truck just over a year, and just noticed the other day like two drops on that handle. Its weird I haven't noticed it sooner, going to have to keep an eye on it.

Had that 3rd Brake Light leak on my 2008 Sport Trac. Dealership said it could be a body weld and wasn't covered in my extended warranty. Also said, my extended warranty wouldn't cover the leak and I would have to pay hourly for them to troubleshoot.

Luckily a member on one of the RV forums had the same problem and alerted me. I had to buy the new 3rd Brake Light out of pocket (no one would sell the gasket separately), but it fixed the leak right away.

"a body weld", that sounds like a bunch of bull. Should have tried another dealer.

Out of 6 dealers in the area, there are only 2 that are trustworthy, have shop times for 'working people', and are trustworthy (twice on that). That dealer and the one I bought from.

That service shop actually really was great, but their salesmen were rude. They only had 2 because they were really small. I would had liked to give them business but the dealer I bought from had a deal I couldn't beat. Besides, my salesman and myself, have a mutual friend we found out, so he treated me really really good in getting this truck in my hands.

Add me to the list, rear passenger side leak from headliner. Assumingly from the center brake light. Ive looked cant seem to find it, anyone have the tsb for the third brake light leak? 10-4-7 is for the grab handle, which i need to get looked at too.

I park my truck on a slight driver to passenger side slope, so im assuming thats the cause of it going to the passenger side.

glad i dont have that now! My 06 leaked from the 3rd brake light. Just a defective gasket. they dealer said they warranty it, but at the time mine was up. So i went to autozone and they have a clear silicone thats for glass and exterior crap, took the light off put a ring of that around the light pushed down, then whiped off the excess gooo. problem solved. they wanted me to buy a new light for like 200 bucks or so.. Sorry charlie, $2.50 later problem solved

I used some "dum-dum" on mine when I got a tinted 3rd brake light (also known as butyl rubber) even though I didn't have a problem. They use that stuff when fixing things like spoilers to decklids so I know it will hold water out. May be worth you guys trying yourself since the dealer just installs a new gasket that is thicker...

wtf

I have owned my supercrew for about a year now and have washed it plenty but today was the first time i've had water leak in my roof through my head liner. Now that i have been doing some research my question is why hasn't ford said anything about this problem? My second question, is the dealership going to tell me the same thing i've been reading that i should fix it myself. I paid almost 40 thousand for that truck and it leaks? they better stand behind it!!!!!

Well its raining for the first time since I picked up my 06 FX4 crew on Monday and I have some sort of leak dripping on the passenger side backseat back. Its just past the rear slider so I presume its the 3rd tail light mentioned in this thread... at least I hope so.

Going to try removing the tail light and sealing it with silicone sealant. I hope that fixes the problem...

Anyone who had the warranty work have an idea of what the cost would have been? Just in case I have to take it in and have them hunt around for the cause if this doesn't work.
