Is this a good deal?

I just got a quote from a Ford dealer in Toronto on a 2010 Platinum that I think is a smoking deal and I am about to pull the trigger.
MSRP - 60 929 CAN
- 7000
Costco 1000
Other Disc. 7329
Sale price 45 600

They advertise special pricing for police, fire fighter, EMS, nurses etc. so I thought I give them a call. My local dealer said he was giving me a great deal at 48 990.

Should I make the 4 hr drive?

From what I understand from my recent deal, the "emergency services" discount is just x-plan pricing so I would think if your local dealer is willing to give you x-plan it would probably work out about the same and save you the 4 hour drive.

I'm in the Toronto area and any dealers I went to and mentioned I was with the emergency services quoted me x-plan prices.

Agreed. We have 3 dealers in Halifax, one dealer offered me X-plan pricing (I knew beforehand what the xplan price was beforehand, so no BS) since I was military, the other 2 dealers did not UNTIL I had a deal in writing, then they came around. I ended up getting the exact truck I wanted, from the dealer I wanted... I'm thinking you can get the same deal from your local dealer, if not, head over to blueovalforums and ask for your X plan there, you shouldn't have an issue at all.

I guess I should have waited before putting a deposit down and tried to get the x plan locally. Oh well, my local dealer didn't have the one I wanted anyway. Said he could trade for it but would cost me an extra 200 to have it picked up.

T.O. dealer had the exact truck no ****ering. She called me back in about 5 min with the price and said that is the best they could do. I didn't realize the x plan was that big a discount.

Now what options should I get for the $1000.

I used mine to get the OEM tonneau cover (Bakflip). List was close to $1300 but dealer discounted it to $995.

Will have to ask about a better deal as well. They quoted me close to 1300 as well. Good to here its a Bakflip. Did you get a box liner or spray in? Might as well get it done before its installed. They quoted me 499 for box liner and 699 for spray in. Sounds steep for both. I may shop around for the liner and install the tonneau myself.

I haven't taken delivery yet but the cover is waiting at the dealer. They quoted me $525 for linex but my linex dealer said they would do it for $450 cash for police/fire. Just waiting for the truck to hurry up and get here.

I told them when I pick up the truck I'm going to go get the linex done and then bring it back to have them put the tonneau on. They have to install it in order to get the 3 year warranty.
