Is there a new sync update out, or coming soon? We just purchased a 2010 Explorer for my wife with the Nav, and sync. Her version is 3.1, which has a few options I would really like on my 2009 F-150. Problem is, my version is 2.1, and I do not see any updates on syncmyride.com. Just curious if anyone knows if there is an update, or if there are different versions of sync for different Ford vehicles?

The main feature hers has that I would like, it allows you to set it so when playing your ipod, you go directly to the ipod interface when hitting the VOICE button, instead of having to say "USB" first.

From what I've read on syncmyride, the hardware platforms (2.x and 3.x) are different. There will never be an upgrade from 2.x to 3.x (unless you pay to replace all the hardware).

 

i am going to research this a bit more. I have feelers out there to junk yards to find a 2010 or other vehicle with a newer sync system. i know all ID's will change. so i will wait until my 6mos free runs out.

should have waited for a 2010. but when the wife says. 'sure .. buy a new truck' and means it. well. better do it then?!

 

I just downloaded updates to mine. I belive it updated NAV more than anything. Just did a few minutes ago.

Just looked it up but haven't installed yet

 

I had to have my 2010 SYNC module replaced due to a strange problem where the system kept switching to USB2 automatically and just display "initializing" on the LCD screen. The part number for the module for my FX4 was: AL3Z14D212C and it cost $353.79. Hope that helps in your search.
