To program a new key yourself you need to have a minimum TWO keys that are already programed to the truck. Sence you only have one now you will need to see the dealer or a lock smith to have the new key programed to the PATS system.

I for this reason I bought a spare key off ebay for about 15 bucks and had it cut and then I programed it to my truck...now I got 3 programed keys, so if I ever lose one I can buy another one and program it myself without having to give the dealer 150 bucks or more to do it.

You still can buy a blank key off ebay and have it cut and that might save you a little at the dealership.

Good luck!

Start shoveling

(Got our 3rd key from the dealer for about $25 - easy to program but you need two working keys)

Can't you just use the spare until the snow melts?...then go get the other one?

You might want to think about borrowing a metal detector. Then, when you find the key, make sure to buy a third

Very easy to do.Takes about 2 minutes. Just follow the instructions in the owners manual.

F150 Key

Allstar Ford in Amarillo wanted 135 for a replacement key & 149 for a replacement remote fob. I got both @ a local locksmith (Ace Lock & Key) for 120 plus tax. The Ford dealer is just trying to rip you off. You do not need two keys to program them either.

THANK YOU !!! Ace Lock & Key
