Here is what the 09 user guide says and I think it must be wrong---swap 4x4 high for 4x4 low and it makes sense to me. Anyone check the 2010 guide to see if they fixed this.

The ELD is affected by the following conditions:
• The 4WD control must be in either 4H (4X4 High) or 4L (4X4 Low)
mode.
• The ELD will not engage if the vehicle speed is above 20 mph
(30 km/h) in 4X4 High or 56 mph (90 km/h) in 4X4 Low.
• In 4H (4X4 High), the ELD will disengage at speeds above 25 mph
(40 km/h) and will automatically reengage at speeds below 20 mph
(30 km/h).
• In 4L (4X4 Low), the ELD will disengage at speeds above 62 mph
(100 km/h) and will automatically reengage at speeds below 56 mph
(90 km/h).

I agree too. I just tried running in 4X4lo to day in the snow, just to make sure everything was working correctly, and I couldnt imagine even going 50mph in 4X4lo. I think i was doing like 20mph and even that i was thinking was too fast. I should have tried to put the locker on in 4X4hi and try to go like 30 or 35 to see if it disengaged...but i didnt

If you have ever drove with you locker on in the snow you would know it binds and hops while making low speed hard turns or while parking

but it does work great thou I use it all of the time when in 4x4 and you may ask why, well because I can

Once you get past 25mph in 4 high the light blinks for a few seconds then goes out....Then when you drive below 20mph it will light back up. 25mph is so lame because I was trying to play around in a field and if ur going say 15mph and turn an give it some gas, 25mph tire spin is there in a heartbeat and then you gotta stare at the blinking light an no locker lol

You could probably make your own relay and switch 12 volts to the diff. Just install a diode so the truck doesn't see the signal or if you see an error code. If there is a factory relay controlling the locker you can probably ground that relay with a switch as well. Again diode out the PCM feed.
Then you can run it in 2wd or anytime..

x2 on the 4Lo. I tried it out today in the snow and it felt like the shifts were overly exaggerated with wicked shift bumps. Guess I know how those 2-1 harsh downshift guys feel now. No way I'd want to go any faster than 25 in 4Lo.
