The Nav is the one thing I didnt want but I ended up getting. Now that I have it, it is a wonderful thing. I really like the touchscreen. The only thing I dont like is the Sony sub. That sub is a piece of junk. My old audiophile in my 07 kicked the ***** out of the sony. The sub is the only downfall in the system. I put a Memphis sub and amp in place of the sony sub but left all the other factory sony stuff in place and it does every bit I need it to. To me it sounds very good, but after spending $2400 on a Nav and sony system, you shouldn't need to replace it for something better, which you will need to do with the junk sub it comes with.

I'd say get the nav but plan on upgrading the sub. But you also must think for the $2400 it cost you might be money ahead and just get the basic radio and upgrade to an aftermarket system for half the cost.

You mind uploading a picture of your sub setup. Custom box or pre-fab?

I had the box built but you can get one very similar. I had it built since I didnt want to wait 3-4 weeks for it to arrive. Its a downward firing box, nothing fancy.

I got every option but the nav thinking I could get a Garmin Gadget and be happy saving a couple thousand dollars. I wish I would have got the Nav now. I test drove one with the Nav and it was awesome. Next time I guess.

Given the cost of the NAV updates for Ford and the INfrequency of them, you're better off with the Garmin's. You'll get more up to date maps and POI's with the Garmin.

I have the factory NAV in Lincoln with the latest $200 update from Navteq. My Garmin that I use in the truck has more up to date maps and POI's.

The only thing I dislike about not having the factory NAV in the truck is the wire I have to plug in for the Garmin.

The factory NAV screen is useful for a rear camera. It also can be used for climate control and some other neat features. You also get a hard drive with the factory NAV option that integrates with SYNC. Other than for outdated maps and POI's, I enjoy the factory NAV in my Lincoln MKS.

I admit that if my same truck had been on the lot with the factory NAV, I probably would have bought it. But factory NAV in the truck wasn't a deal breaker for me.

I didn't know you had to pay for updates. Now I'm glad I didn't get it.

MirrorLink

I want to purchase a mirror link system. It will mirror what ever is on your phone on nav screen. Does anyone know if the factory unit has audio video input via RCA?
