09 F150 Nav update

So I heard that there is an update out now and I have a part number.

Can someone look this up and find out what the list price is. I was told $800

Part: AA5Z-10E987-A

I tried searching this part number only to find it on the explorer forums.None of the other places I have shows this available yet. It appears you can only get this update (Nav maps & firmware) from Ford.

Personally I think the price is ridiculous and Ford shouldn't be charging for it, glad I didn't get the Nav and bought a 4.3" Tomtom....

Are you saying $800 for a map update? If so, that's crazy.

Even BMW only charges a couple of hundred bucks! Generally they come out on e-bay for much less if you are patient.

The previous update was $149. I think that $800 figure is way off.

I am in Canada and my dealer told me the update was $220. I laughed at him and told him it is cheaper to go buy a new portable GPS that has the latest update on it. If this is what the updates are going to cost then I will not update the nav. Plus I am not really impressed with the nav system anyways. Thought Ford could have done a better job with it(software wise)

My dealer is telling me the $800 is the price for the DVD- they then charge $199 "parts" and labor for the update. I am planning on getting it done next week.

Hopefully Mr Bacon is saying that the update DVD costs the dealership $800, kinda like them buying a special tool. They then charge $199 parts and labor to perform the update. 4 trucks later the "tool" is paid for and it's gravy for them from there...

I'll try to give Mr Bacon some credit until he proves otherwise...

I don't care how you try and spin it, Mr. Bacon is getting taken to the cleaners. The last update from Ford was $150 and even that could be had much cheaper on eBay.

Anyone that would pay $800 for a Nav update is flat out nuts. Paying $1000 is beyond nuts.

He is saying his cost is $199. The dealer pays $800 and keeps the disc.
