What type of wheel cleaner would you recommend for your OEM non-chrome wheels? I have the Lariat.

 

Soap and water.

 

windex works good too thats what i use i got chrome rims though

x2... I like Meg's Shampoo and Conditioner. I do the tires first with Westley's and then wash the wheels and tires with my Meg's before I even wash the truck.

I wax the wheels once a year or so. It keeps most of the stuff from sticking, and washes the rest off with soap and water. Mequires chrome wheel polish/powerball works pretty well to get the extreme shine.

 

i use sprayaway window cleaner works good for me i have the 20" ford wheels i like it better then then windex as the windex has ammonia which will strip any wax on the wheel.

 

That Sprayway stuff is good. And I especially like the picture on the can. The good old days. . .

 

I would just use regular car wash and wax. if I'm not mistaken, all these wheels, except maybe the chrome wheels are clear coated. In other words paint. Should be treated just like your hood, only more often as they deal with brake dust, salt, etc.

 

I use the same Megs soap I use on the truck, just use a different mitt and wash them last. Has worked great for years.

 

Good point on washing the wheels/tires last AND using a different mitt. I have ruined my share of wash mitts by washing the wheels tires after they have had that tire dressing on them. I don't do it very often but on occaision run it through the hand car wash and those guys really slather on the tire dressing
