I am tentatively considering welding some 2"x4" tabs into the interior sidewalls of the bed of my 2010 so that I can bolt a tank rack across the bed but still have it removable. I'd do this before I have a sprayed-in bedliner installed, so any exposed metal would be covered. Anyone done anything similar? The tank rack would be a major benefit for me, but the thought putting a torch to the side of my brand new truck gives me the *******.

 

just make sure to disconnect the battery and you will be fine
