Tow Mirror Caps

I have a new set of Painted mirror caps to replace the current chrome ones. Can anyone fill me in on how to remove the caps? I am assuming they just pop off..

I did i search and found a post with a broken link on a picture that showed the clips? Also found this...

There are 8 little fingers that hold the mirror to the motor hub but actually only 4 clips. These are the bigger tabs. I used a screw driver and twisted it between these 4 clips, which releases the little fingers from the hub. I started at the bottom two then went to the top ones. One of the top ones doesn't have a little tab to twist so I saved this one for last and the glass slides off once the other three are released.

After the glass was off, remove 4 torx screws and then I was able to pull the cover out a little from the mirror housing and used a long skinny flat tip screw driver to relase the tabs on the mirror cap.

So if anyone is interested in a set of Black mirror covers (regular non TT mirrors) i have a set for sale. PM me if interested.

Now on towards smoking those mirror reflectors.

Does anyone have a pic of what the clip from the mirror side looking in looks like?

The old ones were just the plain textured black plastic, not painted.

heres a similar mirror with the glass off.
once the glass is off there are 4 torx screws and then 4 tabs holding the mirror cap on. You can look at the new ones to see exactly where the 4 tabs on the cap are.
