2010 Lariat Screw w/ 6.5 bed & leveling kit

Hi folks! I'm new to the forum and been doing lots of reading on this forum over the past few weeks. This forum is a great source of info.

I'm getting ready to purchase a 2010 Lariat S-crew with a 6.5 bed. I'm trading in the 6.6L Duramax for the 5.4L.

Does anyone have any pictures of a this model truck with the leveling kit on it. I'd really like to see what she looks like. I've seen pictures of folks with the 5.5 bed and leveling kits but have not seen any pictures of 6.5 bed and a leveling kit.

Thanks.

No pics, but I do have a SCREW with the 6 1/2' bed, and all I did to see what it would look like was jack up the front end with my floor jack, 2 1/2 inches.

It looked great, and I am waiting for the Bilstein leveling shock to become available, supposedly in March.

How will this leveling shock accomplish the lift compared to the aluminum blocks that come in the current kits? Do you think it will be able to provide a 3" lift for the front. Any guesses on price? Thanks.

They will look virtually the same as any 04-08 4x4 with a leveling kit, use pics of those for comparison.

They use the stock spring and allow you to place it in different positions to get the lift you prefer. There are 3 positions from 0 lift to 2 1/2 inches of lift. They also give you a better ride than stock. Link here: http://www.off-roadweb.com/tech/0904...kit/index.html

I believe I saw them for about $300 for the pair, for the 08, which should be close to the same thing.

I'll try to find the link I saw with the date of release.

Here you go. It is a 2009 FX4 with a 6.5ft box but same thing as the '10s. I have a 2.5" Auto Spring level. This alone with make the nose sit really high. The kit actually seemed to raise the front end about 3-1/4".

I recently put on a long ProComp Add-a-leaf to level the back of the truck back out. You can also accomplish this with a 3" rear block, but i wanted the extra capasity out of my non tow package with a standard 3 leaf pack.

FYI,

I am also running a 305-55-20 Mickey Thompson ATZ tire.. (33x12.5 R20)

The winter picture has the perfect stance for me. What is your winter tire/rim setup?

Does the AS leveling kit you used on the front change the geometry or limit the travel?

Beautiful truck, please post more pics.

There is a geometry change in the front for sure. But thats the nature of the beast with leveling kits. I wont say it is a drastic change in angles, but yes they are increased over stock. However, factory ride for the most part stayed the same and there is no change or limitation in travel. Do can hear a knock if you go over big drops in the road (pot holes ect) because the control arm can come down and knock the spring. But has only happened once or twice in the 10,000 miles i have on the kit.

As for the wheels: The winter set up are 2007 OEM ford 20s with 305-55-20 Mickey Thompson ATZ tires... they are the tires off of my summer setup. Those chrome rims in the summer are KMC Hoss wheels 20x9 with a -12mm offset... too much poke for me, so I will be selling them in the spring.

here are a few more pics...

Thanks for the pics! I really like the look of the ATZ's on the factory rims. I did not know a 305/55 would fit on the OEM 20" wheel. I know what I will be getting next. Great looking truck. Thanks.

How much front lift did you get from the AS kit? Which one did you use?

Love the look of your truck Fast, great stance. Definatly too nose high in your first pictures, that AAL really finished the truck off. I was leaning towards just a 1.5" level but now you've got me thinking a 2" level with 2.5 or 3" blocks. I like the look of your factory rims with those ATZ's truck looks clean. Also what was the price on that cap? I can see me going that direction down the road, I have a tonneau on right now but I miss having a cap (had one on my old truck)

I swear... one of these days I'm gonna keep a truck long enough to outfit it exactly the way I want - a small lift, wheels, tires, etc... This high mileage stuff is getting old. Very nice truck, Fast. Your Leer has me wishing I went that route, but way too expensive for a one-year truck. I went with a Swiss Patriot painted fiberglass lid - at least it looks factory.
