I have a controller from an 05 and it will work for my 09 with a new wiring adapter, it will be completely plug and play, like my old truck. My question is why are some people bringing their truck in to the dealer for programming? Is it just for the sway control? Will it work just being plugged in?

 

You only need to have the dealer programming is if you install the Ford factory brake controller.

Your aftermarket controller will work fine with the proper harness and is plug & Play.

Only the Ford factory controller offers the sway control.
