That would be nice. Seems every time I trade an F-150, it's only worth like 10-12k at most, and I always have the best one for the time (e.g. Lariat, now Plat, etc). Wonder what an '09 Plat will be worth if I trade up for an '11 Plat in early 2011.

You should try selling it first. You'll easily get $4k more for your truck that way, if not more. I've never traded in a vehicle (I'm only 21, so its only been a couple lol). I had an '06 cobalt SS supercharged that I sold for $17k when the dealers were only going to give me $13.5k trade-in. And back when I sold my '02 reg cab, my trade-in value was only like $6k, but I ended up selling for $11k Just be patient and wait for someone to buy it. Only disadvantage is you could be without a vehicle for a little while unless you have one waiting for you on the lot.

My buddy bought a Platinum and its beautiful, just too nice for what I use mine for....
It's worth it if you like what the Platinum has to offer. If one is just going to swap it out to look like a FX4/Lariat, then might as well just start out with a Lariat for $3000 less.

The other difference between Lariat and the Platinum is you can't get a Scab Platinum, but you can get a Scab with the Lariat.

Wow, I started this thread over a year ago. I can't believe I never posted what I ended up getting.... a Platinum is Ingot Silver. Currently has 25k miles on it and I love the truck.

ok can some one tell me a few things concerning the 2011 f150? first why is the king ranch not offere with the new 6.2L and why is FX4 not available on any trim like in the superduties. also what is the difference in the leather in the king ranch and platinum now? is the king ranch still the treated sattle bag leather from the previous years?
