Calling all Platinum owners....

All, I purchased the "Blendmount and Invisicord" to stealth mount my new Passport 9500x1 (great unit by the way). Anyway, there are no instructions specific to the '09 F-150 for the invisicord electrical connections. Anyone out there do this yet and would you please share with me which wire you used for the hot/switched lead and which is the ground lead?

The Invisicord comes with connectors that slide into the rear of the exising harness coupling - so no splicing necessary.

T.I.A.

I asked Platinum owners - so I would be sure the wiring would be identical as non-platinums may have different mirror options (and wiring) and the Plat also has the rain sensor wiring running behind the mirror.

Nobody reply yet? What's the "Blendmount and Invisicord" ? Sounds like a good mod. I'd like to get a new Passport and have it hot wired to the ignition switch. I don't like the battery powered ones because I'd always forget to turn it on or off ;-)

I'm ordering an Invisicord and a Blendmout. Has anyone determined the correct pin connections on a 2010 Platinum with Nav?

Also, any suggestion on whether to get the Blendmount with or without hinge?

Mark - you have a PM...another member (Jim H.) sent me the correct wire connections and I have had my Passport 9500xi connected now for two weeks with no issue at all. Comes on/off with the key and works like a champ! The Bendmount/Iniviscord setup was fairly easy to install and really make the detector pretty stealth. I don't think I got the hinged model...and had thought that was only for certain rear view mirror types...check out their web sight - should steer you in the right direction.

Hey gh - it's a pretty slick mount for the radar detector right below the rear view mirror. Nice unit and makes a clean mount for your radar unit. The Invisicord plugs in the detector and into the rear of the mirror connector making it a very clean installation...no more power cord running down to the dash 12v outlet.

I just swapped my V1 for the 9500ix - which if nothing else is a whole lot more pleasant to live with on a daily basis. Love the Redlight camera feature - as well as the speed display on the unit when it alerts.

no change needed to the invisicord BTW - straight swap.

Thanks HotLap, Yeah, I finally started poking around and found their web sites today. Both of them sure are pretty proud of their products, huh?
I haven't had a Passport hooked up since I got caught with one up in Va. several years ago. I find the speedometer a little difficult to read accurately on the '09 so it may be time to upgrade to the latest now. That mount is nice. Sure beats the old suction cups!

jh - I'm not familiar with the V1 - but I really do like my 9500ix...the gps functions really make it nice, especially the way it automatically cancels false alarms...that's always been my issue with radar detectors - the number of false alarms you get - especially in town. Just saved me a ticket a couple of days ago

Funny, I noticed that too...but they are quality and it is nice to have everything tucked away...good luck and let us know when you get it installed
