I have them on my 09 FX4 and I do not have flat spots; I run max psi though and I do not experience hydroplaning more than I expect from a truck.

I have had great results with mine since new. They have hardly worn at all and im at 15k miles. Never had the flat spot problem and have great grip in wet/ice condtions. They do get very highly rated and there aint many other tires that get recomended as well for 1/2 tons. I big factor is tire pressure. make sure you have the cirrect pressures. To many times do i see over inflatted and underinflated tires.

Last time i checked it was the stock pressure. I do have to top them up though because that was back in the summer.

Door jam calls for 35psi, tire have max inflation of 44psi. I run 36psi in all of them.

Not my favorite tire for a 4x4, but they do better in wet than the Long Trails I had on my '06.

For those that have replaced them....which tires have you been replacing them with on the 20's?

Lots of complaints about the OEM Pirellis, but none having to to do with traction. It's a good tire. Maybe you are not used to the torque multiplication of the 5.4L/3.73/6-spd?

More to do with people over powering them not having good throttle control i recon. I drove in snow and ice the other day and they were fine. Only place i have never used them is proper off road.

I bought a set used with about 10,000 miles on them for $300 when I moved from 18s to 20s on my 06 Lariat. I've put another solid 35K+ miles on em and am just now beginning to look to replace them. Living here in the South (LA) I've not experienced the 'flat spotting' and they've performed well all around. And I like their looks - guess I'm just not into some of those Toyos and Motos and others that look like tank tracks! So - any of you guys that don't like em let me know - I'll be looking for a set soon after Christmas.

I've read everything you guys have said about the Pirrelli's. I bought my '09 FX4 in July. During the summer I thought that I would have to buy winter tires because on different surfaces the wheels spun. I have a cottage on Georgian Bay near Parry Sound Ontario. I've been up there for the last week. Two days ago we had about 8 inches of snow and I had to go to town. Our 3 kilometre road is a private road and isn't plowed. I only had the truck in 2 wheel drive and I had now problem getting out. We have some hills that are at least a 40 degree incline and the wheels didn't slip at all. We got another 8 inches of snow overnight. Today I had to tow my trailer and snowmobile out with a combined weight of about 1500 pounds or so. I had it in 4 wheel drive today and again no problem. No slipping at all. I was really surprised about how good the Pirelli's were. About the flat spot. I do find there is a flat spot especially when it's cold but it doesn't bother me at all. It goes away pretty quick. When I got to southern Ontario today it was raining and I didn't notice any slipping or hydroplaning. I've never noticed any slipping or hydroplaning on wet pavement at all since I bought the truck. I'm grateful that I don't have to buy snow tires because the conditions can't get much worse that they were the last two days.

I had ATR's on my old 3/4 ton and ran them for 80k miles. they were 265 70 17 in "E" range they were very good in the rain, snow and on ice, (once they run down to about 1/3 of the tread they don't do well in the snow anymore) pulling my little 6k trailer. I think the guys having probs with the 20" tires in the rain may be on account of the width especially if they are running the 50 series.

I went with Michelin LTX A/T2's before delivery on my 2008 F-150 King Ranch last year beacuse I heard horror stories on the 20" Scorpoins. Now I hear it is the STR Scorpions that stink (street tread), while the ATR's are good (all terrain). My wife has 18" STR Scorpions on her 2008 Expedition, and they are fantastic in snow and on ice with the Advance Trac. I was set to replace them, but I hate to sacrifice mileage with a heavier lug tread all-terrain.

The Michleins on my 2008 Screw (KR) were very quiet, but snow traction kind of stunk. I put BFG T/A's on my 2008 F-350 before delivery because the Crapinetals were worse han any tire, and am very happy... except the T/A's are noisy on the highway now with 35,000 miles on them. My 2010 I specifically ordered with 18's because I didn't want Pirelli's. I've had good luck with the ATS Goodyears in the past. The problem is I thought I was getting the LT tires as I read that either the Max Tow or the Chrome Package mandated them (it may have been in 2009). I see the truck will be delivered with P-metrics. I want LT's for towing. The stocks may be Silet Armors, though. I still want LT rated tires. I am considering the BFG T/A's, Michelin LTX A/T2's, and Goodyear ATS. I have no idea whichone to go with. Maybe I should have gone with the 20" Scorpion ATR's in the first place... too bad the 20" chrome wheels are soooooo UGLY!

So far so good with my Pirelli tires if you look at tire rack they are rated up there but if I was to replace my tires I would definitely get firestones Destination A/T again.......cheers
