I've scheduled an appointment for service on my 2009 F150 FX4 5k miles.

I was washing the truck this weekend and found a substantial amount of grease in the front drivers side wheel well (I mean a lot of it).
I have an appointment Tuesday so I'll find out what it is from but do you guys have a clue?

Front axle grease maybe?

 

Crawl under there and check if the CV boot has a rip. If not it may just be some random grease off the road. I've had this before and while I don't remember hitting a big glob of grease it was there none the less.

 

Look at your front CV boot. One must be busted.

Yeah thats prolly what happened. They will prolly just put a new boot on it. If you can try to get them to change the entire axle. With it torn like that there is a good chance some dirt got up in there and will shorten the life of that cv joint. Goodluck
