Does anyone have an iphone...if so how compatible is it with sync ? I hear Microsoft and Apple don't play well together.

There is a ton of information (mostly complaints about Sync and iPhones not working together) at Syncmyride.com. Seems like the lastest software version for the iPhone has a lot of compatibility issues with Sync. If you have Sync, then you can register as an owner and view the Owner-to-Owner forums. Check out this thread:

Are you able to operate the iphone hands free? The guy at the Apple store said Sync would not be able to download my contacts...therefore I would have to hand dial everything.

It downloads my contact list no problem, you hit the voice button say "call whoever" and it calls them from your phone.

That's what irritates me about sales people today...they don't know anything about their product. This guy tells me iphone will not work with Sync...now everyone here tells me it does. From now on I'm asking you guys for advice.

My iPhone works great with sync. Only thing that doesn't work is text messages, which 95% of phones don't work with sync on that.

No problem. Sound quality is great. Never had anyone say hearing me was a problem.
