I won't argue the merrits of a truck i didn't purchase. Considering that i'm driving the ford, it would appear my "research" was just fine

Guess what. Yes you can add the tailgate step to the XL. It is an option. But I am leaning against buying the XL now anyway for other reasons.

If you need to get the "manicure package" with your truck go for it! But it's just going to be one of those things you only use once in the life of your truck right?

I totally agree. This guy isn't here to learn anything, he's here to stir the pot and tell people how they don't know anything.

His threads are comical, but a waste of time.

I own an 08 crewcab 4x4 silveardo also and i can say that yah they are both nice trucks, but i dont feel like im driving a truck. The leather isnt as nice either and it just seems cheaper built on the interior then my f150, but its what my wife wanted and they had better rebates at the time of purchase so thats what she got. I also dont get the chevy commercial about the "man step" If thats all they can come up with, then thats one more reason not to buy one! They are also making the "man-step" for other makes and models as aftermarket accessories. SO it must be more "manly" then silverado can handle.... nothing like Government Motors for ya

I'd rather have my "man step" and not need a 5 year warranty.

Sorry, but everyone I know who own's a GM truck have had issues with it. I smell the desperation of GM. "GM-We have a 5 year warranty because you will need it"

I do own a 68 Chevelle. I'm not a Chevy hater. GM just forgot how to make trucks.

A lot of ford dealerships have 5 yr warranties already.. The one near me always has a 7 yr 100000 mile powertrain, thats just what they have always offered at no cost.

Didn't I read something about the government backing GM warranties?

BTW, I am picking up my new 2010 FX4 tomorrow, and it doesn't have the "man step"...

F-150, or at least American, all the way for a pickup truck.

My father's friend at work bought a tundra. He had it less than 1 year when the spare tire bolts holding it onto the truck disintegrated and the spare tire came crashing down as he was driving on the highway, bounced upright and rolled into the other lane of oncoming traffic and smashed into a lady's windshiled causing a major accident. That's built tough, toyota, really great job there. That company is going to actually kill someone while it's trying to figure out how to actually make a truck that works like one and doesn't just somehwat resmble one on the outside only. Sad, very sad.

At least the Ford's, Chevy's and even Dodge's don't come apart while you drive them. For crying out loud toyota... give up already and go back to your prius'. Oh wait, the Hybrid Fusion is getting rave reviews compared to your prius. Scratch that, too.

I have an 09 stx, that would I be willing to put up against any of the new fx4 look at the price differents, honestly, anyone with a little know how can make there truck better, the skid plates are cheap and thin, the shocks are just rancho, the stickers have a little more class, as well as the inside.. but the four leaf spring get me.. that why i added helper air bags... i spent hardly anything compared to what i have spent for them pretty badges, buy what u need, build what u want.. I am 20 a full time student and worker.. you guys can put in a couple man hours.. and the man step awesome! my father truck has it, he uses it everyday. also had a little rear end work done..
