Looks great but I'm cautious about tearing stuff off my truck still haha

Does anyone know how much someone would charge to paint them glossy? Rough estimate.

Looks really good! I think this might be my next mod (any one have a part number for the 04-08s?)

Yeah... that's where the mod came from Us with the '04's are the only ones who got them besides higher trims levels IIRC

You can mount factory flares without drilling, cut off the clips and 3m tape them, it has been done before

I beg to differ...my '05 was a loaded Lariat Screw 4x4 and it didn't even come with the glossy b-pillar trim pieces OR the glossy door handle buckets...I created the "chrome package" look before Ford offered it in '06 I added the Mark LT chrome door handles w/body color buckets (and tail gate handle), the chrome cap LT mirrors, the glossy b-pillar trim and it came with the chrome bumpers. I also added the Harley F-150 grille with the 5 chrome bars and it looked pretty good...I believe those were most of the chrome package parts that became avail from Ford in '06 (except the wheels). That's the only thing I missing with my '09 Platinum...it came with eveything and I want (more like need) to mod...every time I see Goeff Deere's '09 black platinum...I get closer and closer to doing the same thing to mine...his '09 is "the bomb"

Love the new B pillars. The "tribal fence graphics" threw me off at first. Really love the overall look with the new headlights/tails.

Very nice BD! One more thing to add to my mod list. What mod are you doing next?

Thanks. I'm doing the third brake light this weekend...and considering adding the 60" Recon White Lightning. http://www.realtruck.com/recon_acces...1373P1C1T.html

I know what you mean about drilling into your fenders. I added factory flares to my old 2005 XLT and it was a lot easier than you might think. First I used 3 inch blue painters tape and taped the fenders where the flares would go. Then I traced the flares onto the tape and carefully marked where each hole needed to be. Simply use a punch to mark the center of the holes and then drill them out. I then used a small brush to put rust proofing on the exposed metal for protection. Then they simply snap into the holes. Just use a test piece of metal to try different size drill bits to make sure you don't go too big with the holes. When I was done you would never have known they did not come on the truck new.

Has anyone tried these pillar covers from B&I? They come in stainless and carbon fiber covered with a glossy gel. That would be cheap ($55) for a SuperCrew.

Nothing like digging up a two year old thread. If glossy black is what you are looking for, then why not just mask them, scuff lightly, and paint them with a Krylon paint for plastics?
