Yes, another Brake Controller Thread

If you have to post "do a search", put up the link

What is the difference between Part # 9L3Z-2C006-A and Part #AL3Z19 H32 AA? The 1st part number is what everybody posts they are putting in there truck for a brake controller. When I call Ford, they give me the 2nd number. I can get the one from my Ford dealer for $157.14, and my salesmen claims it will plug into the existing wire harness and mount in the little change holder thing (which I will never use).

Anyone have experience with both?

Thanks,
Greg

Just speculation here....

I have an '09, which I used the 9L3Z-2C006-A for -

I see you have a '10

There is a difference between the '09 & '10 brake controller, which is why the part numbers might be different?

The '09 controller has a screen that lights up and tells you your settings etc - the '10 has no screen (just blank front) and the settings show up in the dash cluster.

Maybe this helps?

That may be it as it makes a lot of sense. It is cheaper so I was worried.

Well, just ordered it from my dealer. They swear up and down that I just need to plug it in, no re-flash needed. We shall see, should get it in a couple days.

I have the entire programming process instructions in text form if you want them - send me a PM with your email address -

Then after they install it, and it doesn't work, and they don't know what to do next, you can give them the instructions.......
