VIN Question

I was given my VIN by my the service I am buying my FX4 from. I tried the Forddirect website but get the below message. I am wondering if the VIN is off by a digit or something. Does any one have any ideas?

That has the correct number of digits... has it been built yet?

Maybe the window sticker is only available after production?

You can enter the VIN here and get some general info on it:

Yeah, I think you are jumping the gun a bit.

The VIN is created before the vehicle is actually built.
However if I was Ford, I wouldn't create a window sticker until there is actually a window.

The window sticker gets created right before the week of production. And it stays available through that link for about 2 years.

Keep checking back.

That's going to be a very nice FX4. Good luck with it. Where are you having it shipped? I assume you're deployed overseas somewhere?

Is there a particular day of the week window stickers are made? Mine still generates the same message, but the dealer confirms the ETA is December 7th.

I was told that the date on the window sticker is the build "week" and not the specific day it will be built. I would suspect it should be showing any day now. I would also confirm with the dealer that you have the VIN right. Mine was built on the week of 09/21 and was at the dealer on 09/26, but I live in KC and it was built in KC.

Yours shows a build date/week of 11/17/09, or today. Good choice BTW, I also have a Sterling Grey FX4 SCrew w/ lux package.

My dealer gave me a vin that was one digit off. It was a mess. Dealer was telling me one thing, ford another. Everybody was pissed - me at ford, the dealer from me calling ford, and ford from me calling them. It wasnt until I reviewed my window sticker that I noticed the vin was different.

You might want to confirm you were given the right vin number.

Oddly enough I never recieved a customer survey after purchase.......

I re-confirmed my VIN with the owner of the dealership. I doubt there is any problem with the VIN, but I started wondering based upon the ETA showing here in N. Illinois on 12/7. I guess that if stickers don't necessarily make it to the bank as soon as they are made, this truck could still be in by then. With next week being a short week, I'm thinking somethings awry somewhere. I saw one just like it this morning, so now I am really anxious.
