Well, as some of you may have been following I have been doing some playing around with the stock intake track. Well, I had some issue with resonating at certain rpms and load. I took the custom tubes off, helped. Took the tune out, helped some more. Put the truck back to stock, no tune, stock tubing, and replaced the snorkel, and the resonating went away.

So, to you others who have removed it, have you had any resonating issues? It is subtle, but there, and only very momentary. The tune and custom intake exaggerated it so I was well aware of it and listening for it as it became quieter.

What like a drone? I pulled my snorkel off yesterday and I don't notice anything.

 

Two different engines, two different model years.

I would expect the intakes to have different harmonics.

 

Eh, it says he has a 2010 FX4. Mine is an '09 FX4, I didn't know they changed them in 2010. I thought they both had the 5.4 3v?

 

They do.

Kind of like a drone. I didn't notice it either when I 1st did it. But after making other changes that made if much more apparent, I was able to know where and when to listen, and it is still there. All I know is that I put it back on and it went away, what I was hearing. Maybe just being picky, but it was there.
