Got my GPS mounted

Finally got around to mounting my GPS. I was tired of having it up on the windshield. I also wired in a 12v cigarette style outlet to switched power and mounted it up underneath the dash above the glove box. Then I plugged my GPS power adapter in to that and ran it through a hole in the back of the cubby hole to the right of the radio to plug in to the back of the GPS.

Definitely looks slick. Almost looks like an OEM option.

Looks like the Pro-Fit mount. How comfortable were you with drilling that thing into place? I want to mount a couple things in my truck, but I'm very hesitant to drill into my two-month old truck!

Yep..it's a Pro-Fit mount. I didn't have any worries about drilling the holes for it. I used electrical tape to tape the mount in place temporarily while I drilled the holes. Then put the screws in and pulled the tape off. It's pretty easy but if you mess it up at least in this case it's hidden once you put the radio surround and trim back in place.

I'm thinking of adding a male-to-male USB mini-b cable instead of hardwiring in a plug adapter. Since the extra USB port is already in the dash, I figure why not?

Looks very good. I might have to go this route when I get mine shortly. Just out of curiosity what model is it?

Personal preference, I would hate to have to look down and to the right that far to see the GPS. I don't even like looking over at the radio while driving.
