I just got a Protecta rubber bed mat & tailgate mat set for my '09 5.5' crewcab { part # 6945 } and the box states 1997-on HWTG ??? The bed mat fits perfect, but the tailgate mat does not line up correctly, regardless of where you align it with the gate lip. They include 26 screws in the kit, and a very basic instruction sheet . Has Ford changed / repositioned or added more inside tailgate stiffeners for 2009 ,as the holes needed to be drilled will interfere with the 12 vertical stiffeners ? I have not yet done any drilling and would rather leave off the tailgate mat altogether, than install it looking like crap ?
