Extang Solid Fold Owners
Hard Tonneau Covers - BakFlip vs Solid Fold
Curious to get other opinions: I can get either a BakFlip HD with the new special rubber end caps to allow the tailgate to be opened / closed without opening the tonneau, or the Extang Solid Fold for $675 (delivered). Same price for either unit ... which do you think is a better unit?
If you have either unit, how have they help up over time?

I have the Extang solid fold on my 09 SCREW and so far so good. Get a little water seepage going through the high pressure car wash but not enough to get anything wet.
Easy on and off and no problems yet.

I had a Solid Fold and took it back for a Bakflip HD .....the Solid Fold display in the showroom uses 1/4" angle iron for the hooks to grab onto........The truck has sheet metal and it seemed to me that it was bending up from the pressure of the hooks....?
Misleading advertising?......
The Bakflip HD is a solid unit ......and I love it

I got the BakFlip from Morrie for $675, shipped. I got my Solid Fold from AutoAnything for $608 (shipped) b/c they price-beat another online vender.
I've written a comparison of the two (basically, their major differences w/ pics) but I haven't hosted the Solid Fold pics yet, so I haven't posted the comparison yet. Standy by!

I did quite a bit of research (and sole searching) and bought the eXtang Solid Fold from Autoanything and love it. They had a special going just before Christmas that packaged a BedRug with it and I love them both. I can take the SolidFold completely off in a couple of minutes without any tools except my fingers :-) I liked the fact that it sits on top of the bed rails and is very simplistic without a lot of extra parts to break and having to deal with drain channels and hoses etc. After that came my EZdown and finished it off.
