FX4 Ride Differences?
This is from the 2009 F-150 brochure:
20" 6-spoke machined-aluminum wheels – Includes
sport-tuned shocks (n/a with Regular Cab 126" WB or
SuperCab 133" WB)
It is an option on the FX4 and Lariat.
(2010 brochure says the same thing)
Also... my window sticker on my FX4 says it came with off-road shocks.

My 09 FX4 CC rides nice. I test drove an 09 Lariat CC and did not feel any significant difference between the two trucks. I liked the more durable interior (imho) of the FX4 over the lariat.
Weird... I just checked my window sticker and it says nothing about offroad shocks CORRECTION... I was only looking at the options. The Standard equipment says "Off-Road Shcks&Skid Plates"

Oh, but they do have the off-road shocks. Unsure if the springs are any different from model to model.
