2010 deisel???
2010 deisel???
not sure if this is an old topic or if there is any more information but is there any new information on the 2010 deisel f-150, or are they pushing it back again? i love my truck to death but once it hits the lot i might have to let her go
The last info I had, which makes it about 2 months old, is that Ford has put it on indefinite hold. With the new emissions requirements for diesels and the cost of production and fuel, and with the newer direct injection gas engines coming out with equal performance, there just isn't a market for them. I too was waiting for one but from the info I have, the newer engines will be the better deal. Like everybody else, we'll see.
From a few days ago...
"And we'll add this little nugget of unofficial information from our sources: No production decision has been made but we're told that there are several Ford F-150 engineering mules running with Scorpion Power Stroke motors under their hoods. It's possible that Ford's light-duty diesel program could wake from hibernation as a way to help recoup the massive investment made in the program."

Read an article on here that the 6.7L will show up in all 2011 Super Duty trucks. Can't remember where.
Here it is.

I suspect it is very possible that the diesel will make it to market at some point in the next couple years. The Fed mandated mileage requirements are brutal and will require the MFGs to build much, much more efficent trucks by 2016. I am not sure any of the mfgs will have a choice but to bring 1/2 ton diesels to market.
What scares me is that the cost to meet these insane immission reqiremnets is really going to jack up the prices on future trucks. It will not shock me to see the stripped down jane trucks in the $30,000-35,000.00 range by 2016.
