Black plastic in bumper

Referring to the two black plastic rectangular pieces on the front bumper, if you have a front licence plate then these two pieces are on either side.
Wondering if anyone had removed these? Looks like a great spot to put some auxillary lighting. Anyone thought of this yet? Maybe a kit is already available, I just have not found it.

Long time lurker, this is a great site.

I haven't heard or read yet about anybody trying to do something with those ugly things.

for those of us that don't have a front license plate, we've been installing a black billet grille in that opening.

cheef - welcome to the site and glad to see you posting!! I too was looking at the possibility of removing those faux bumpers in the front lower grill. Looks pretty straightforward to remove them. I currently have the lower billet grill installed to cover that nasty gap...but I think a cleaner install would be to remove the faux bumpers and go billet for the entire lower grill area with a couple of smaller aux lights...I've been noticing the Superduty's have some pretty nice aftermarket lower grill/aux light combos and would like to go that route...one problem of getting 1st year new model...it takes the aftermarket (especially with the economy as slow as it is right now) a while to catch up. Hopefully we'll see more options soon!

Steve that would look sharp too.
I have to have my front plate here in Ontario. I really think a set of large rectangular fog and/or driving lights would look great there. Another idea that may work is flush mounting some lights in the black plastic itself, might look tight.

Hotlap - that's a great idea, a one piece black billet grill with some fogs set in it. Maybe a 4 or 5 inch round or 3x6" rectangular. I will have to spend more time looking at lights now.

Cheers
