So I installed two 170 Striker HID drive lights today. They are unreal it is just like daylight. Will post some pics soon.

OK here are the pics, they ran me about $600 canadian. They are very bright and have unreal range.

 

Nice! Are they suitable for on road driving or just off road? Obviously they are not legal but sometimes it is better to break the law than to hit a moose and kill yourself. Some night time road shots would be awesome if you get around to it.

 

they are off road lights but, I have them wired to the high beam so I use them on the highway.

 

look good man, those hid lights are damn expensive

 

I retrofitting HID's into my KC Daylighters. As soon as my dad gets a bull bar for his new 09 I will do the same with those. Cost me 100 for the KC's and 145 for the HID's and I have bright lights. I have fogs that shoot wide, the heads aim in the middle, and my pencil beam KC's shoot WAY down the road. I love it.

 

Got any pics of that setup? Particularly from the drivers point of view.

 

I dont have any driving pics yet. I will try to get some of them. Its hard to get pics of the output but I will try my best.

 

Gurt - How did you retrofit the KC Daylighters? Sounds like a great idea.

 

I have the exact same setup...

 

What I did was just get an H1 (i think that is the bulb size). Drilled out the back of the KC just a tad bit so I could fit the adapters through, then wired them up. Piece of cake. Im about to take out my 6000k lights in there now and swap them out for some 3000k i think. That way they will be better at night.

 

Does anyone have any good recommendations for HID kits for 2010 models. I just recently bought a 2010 platinum and bought one dual h13 xenon kit already and it was not compatible. Thanks in advance.

 

Pinestar, definitely see if you can get some pics at night from the driver's seat. Maybe with a sign in the distance just to judge how far the light beam goes. I was looking at your exact same setup for my 08, but no one has the LightForce's, especially not the HID version.
