Why not a leveling kit from Ford?

This may be a silly question but why does Ford make their trucks so that it is required to install a leveling kit? Why not create the truck with it already “level”? Why is there a need to have the truck lower in the front? Or maybe even have an option feature to have the front end leveled.

Thoughts?

Ford designs their trucks to sit level when loaded or towing. Ford builds their trucks to be trucks, not cars with boxes.

To each his own, but I've never understood the need for a leveling kit... I don't want my azz end lower than the front just cause I put 150lbs in the box. Now that looks like cr@p. Kinda like many SD on the road now... Front end looks higher?

When I load my truck up for hauling I don't want my headlights shining up in the air.

What all the other guys said, meant to sit level when towing or hauling something.

And a leveling kit wouldn't be an option because no matter what anyone says, they create more stress on your front end. Ford isn't going to sell an option that would directly lead to more warranty claims.

Funny thing is my F150 with my 6K lb camper on the hitch still sits higher in the back then my buddy's Sierra unloaded.

I have 2" blocks in the front, and 1000# helper springs in the rear. I am rarely not level.

I think that our trucks look better when they are leveled and mine doesn't sit higher in the front it sits level like a leveling kit is supposed to. As for sagging in the rear with a heavy load then put airbags on the rear.

For me, this doesn't make any sense. I understand why some like to level but going through the expense of putting airbags in just to get back what the truck had before it was leveled doesn't work for me.

I can understand if your puttign on larger rubber, but to "add" a stiff ride to keep it level.... Well again to each his own. Thats the beauty of freedom.

I personally like the look of the leveling kit (2") on the F-150 and contrary to what's been said above a (properly installed) 2" leveling kit does not affect the ride or result in extra wear on the front end suspension. My brother had this done a while back on his '05 Lariat and I have driven it several times...only difference is it sits higher in the front - which is a great feeling! Many have been adding the 2" leveling kits for years with no issues....now get into to 6" lifts with larger wheels and tires and that will change the driving dynamic and wear on suspension components...but just a 2" leveling kit isn't going to hurt your truck

As for hauling heavy loads, I think a heavy load is going to make your headlights shine higher up regardless (since the headlights are aimed with the truck empty from the factory - trick would be to have them re-aimed after the leveling kit has been installed)...but who really hauls heavy loads all the time at night?

The only reason why you would use the bags is towing something but other than that it would be leveled. But everybodys different thats what makes this site so great is all the different taste in mods.

Talking

I was actually considering raising the height of my rear end even higher; I mean really get the nose of my truck pointed directly at the pavement. That way I could compete with the sad droopy front end's of the ram's and tundra's! Woooooo!!!
