dealer program is a JOKE!!!!

luckly my neighbor is service advisor so i brought the key in to get it cut, free of course
I told him i jsut want it cut i can program it no issues (just a serious of key turns and lock/unlocking found in owner manual). He said no worries go have a seat if you'd like it will be 2-3 minutes. i told him id hang around so after the guy cut the key he brings it to my neighbor who walks outside, hops in truck, turns the keys in ignition a # of times and the truck beeps at him telling him they are coded. Then he locks/unlocks the doors in a similar order to program the remote and im out the door with my new "fusion" key. Quickest dealer visit id ever had haha. AND FREE! which was the best part.

anyway enough with that. dont pay dealer for *****. its super easy

nice build n price find

Question

Excuse my ignorance, but what is so special about this Fusion key compared to our key w/fob? Does this key do remote start? If not, you'd need a fob anyways, so what is the point?

The Fusion key has the FOB built in with the key - no more extra FOB hanging from your key ring.

Arm and a leg at the dealer....only an arm through eBay. You can get them for about $35 or so, although some people run up the bids and they'll get into the $40 range.

For the trunk (Fusion), but you can use for an alternate source.

There is also a three button version - without the trunk release.

Anyone else notice that you can now get a Lariat in either supercab or supercrew now? Before it was only available in supercrew.

You can't program the truck function to do anything. I have to of the Fusion keys brand new, the three button one and the four button one. The reason some prefer the Fusion key over out keys is the fact that the fob is built into the key. If you look inside of your manual there should be instructions there on how to program the FOB.
