09 rear view camera question for Tasca Parts

I have an 09 f150 with factory navigation but it does not have the factory rear view camera. I found a new factory camera, and emblem for cheap on ebay and would like to hook it to my factory navigation. Are there part numbers listed for the necessary wiring? Is it available, and how much is it? Thanks for the help.
Rick

This is something I would like to do in the future also, if the cost isn't prohibitive.

But, your asking a parts vendor, who has really gone out of his way to help us here on the forum, to supply you with information for a mod where you are buying the main parts somewhere else.........

The deal was too good to pass up on the camera and emblem $80 shipped. I would be more than happy to purchase the rest of the parts from Tasca.

The wiring from the cab back is part of the main harness. You would have to change the entire main harness, not very practical. There is a smaller harness in the headliner that includes the necessary 16-pin plug for the video display mirror. Its about $50 Tasca. If you are using the NAV system, I have no experience with it but I'm sure you would still have to swap out the main harness if you want the factory wiring under the bed back to the tailgate.

v_tach is the backup cam guru so take my words with a grain of salt or two. My suggestion is to compare your nav female connector(s) to the one(s) from a nav w/backup cam. If the pin sockets are the same and accessible, you can run the appropriate wires as a separate harness and tie-in the existing wires as needed.

i been doing some research on the harness me and 1sweet09fx4 both have the camera wiring running from the back of the truck into the cab. If you look between the spare tire and bumper there is a 12 pin connector that spilts form the main harness and feeds the taillihgt and camera. it is right above the 7 pin tow harness and tucked above a piece of metal. on the truck side of the harness i know that pin 8 is grey and power for the camera. On my truck w/o nav the wires travel up to the headliner. With the nav they travel to the head unit. you should check behind the nav for a brown wire and a brown yellow for the video signal. i think they have to flash the nav unit for the screen to come on. not sure of this

Actually its not that bad if you have the factory nav unit. All you need from what I'm told is the emblem and one harness in the back. Up front I'm not sure on the hook up into the Nav unit but you will have to get the Nav unit reprogramed to accept the video feed. The dealerships cannot do it themselves. I know we can use Ford's radio supplier to do it but that requires you shipping it to me, me shipping to them, them shipping it back to me and then me shipping it to you and that is alot of freight. and I know of atleast one other company in our area that is capable of doing it. But if you cannot get the Nav reprogrammed you will not get this to work at all.

Sounds bad enough until somebody comes up with a way to reprogram the NAV unit at home.

Thanks for the info Tasca. I wanted to get more info on it before I ordered the harness at the back. I would like to go forward with the rest of the install so I will need to get the harness for the back of the truck. If you can get me a price on it that would be great, I have heard a lot of great thing about ordering from you. I will check and see if anyone around here can re-flash the nav. unit but if not I will ship it to you since you have someone in the area if that is ok with you. If you can get a price for the nav. unit to be flashed also that would be great. Thanks again for the help.

Hard to belive the dealer can't reflash the nav. unit but not suprised. I have been hoping to add a backup cam also to my nav. and did a little research. Was thinking about using the sync lockpick option when it becomes available http://www.coastaletech.com/synclockpick.htm

also here are a couple wiring diagrams. I looked for the cam harness on my truck and could not find it but maybe I need to check again!

Where in the headliner do you look for the camera wires going to the mirror?
