Trade: My 09 Tailgate for your Tailgate with step.

Hi guys,

If anybody is interested in trading their tailgate step with me I am very interested. I use my truck for work and constantly go in the bed every day and regret not getting the tailgate step. My truck is silver and has brand new Line-X sprayed in the bed and on the tailgate. So if you have a silver tailgate step and want to trade for a non-step line-x sprayed one please let me know.

Thanks!!

Good luck with your trade. I do not see it happening.

Alright, I have to ask the obvious. Why would someone with the man step tailgate trade for yours?

I too don't see a trade in your future. But here's a little something for you to consider. http://www.greatdayinc.com/trucknbuddy-1.htm

SFssft1911, that is interesting - but looks like it permanately mounts to the tailgate. It would hinder you from loading anything big into the bed like plywood. You couldn't slide anything across the tailgate as the step would be in the way.

To the original poster - good luck! This isn't going to happen. Finding someone willing to trade is a major undertaking...then assuming they have the same color truck...THEN assuming they are somewhere close to you. And, it is not an even trade. You should be offering money along with your tailgate for a trade.

Plus... hope they want a line-xed tailgate. Line-X is a great thing, but it would encourage me to have the rest of my bed sprayed and we can't all afford that right now.

I don't really see a trade happening anytime soon. But there are cases where people might want to. On my old forum when I had a Tacoma people would trade there scooped hoods for non scooped all the time. Well its a shot in the dark and saves me a trip to the dealer to possibly buy a new tailgate lol.

If I had the man step I'd trade, I don't see a benefit any it's not easy to slide stuff over them, buddies 350 has it and I'm not impressed with it. for 27 years I've been able to climb up a truck, nothings changed other than weaker owners.

Most of the F150 owners use their trucks as daily drivers, not work horses. Most F150 owners consider working their truck as a visit to the home improvement store and bringing back a few sacks of something on the back. In other words, the trucks are cowboy cadillacs. The man step makes life easy for us wannabes.

Perhaps a trade of your tailgate and $500 may get you more chance of someone doing the trade.

Whatever. To me, single best innovation in trucks in the past 20 years. Bar none! Don't know ANYONE who LIKES to slide or jump into a bed when given an easier alternative. I guess you might be the first.
