Level or Lift? I need help!

Hey guys. I am a newbie here and just bought a 2009 F-150 FX4. I LOVE this truck so far, but I am torn as to what I want to do next...

Should I lift the truck and put 33 x 12.5" tires and new wheels on it or should i go all out and do a 6" lift?

To be honest, I want the bigger tires to make the truck bigger, but I will probably never use the truck for any serious off-road use. I mean, the occasional sand or mud, but no serious rock climbing, etc.

From what I understand, if I lift it, it's going to affect the ride quite a bit. If I do the BDS 2.5" leveling kit in the front and the 1" blocks in the rear, would the truck ride like it does now? (or at least close to it?)

Does anyone have pictures of a leveled truck with 33 x 12.5s?

Any advice you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated!

Mark

If you want a mean looking truck, go with the lift! What color is your FX4? I dont need a lifted truck, but have one because I enjoy the look and riding tall. There are days where I wish I had just a little vehicle to zoom in and out of parking spots/garages. But in all I enjoy the lift.

The truck is black. I agree with wanting something to zip in and out of traffic with, but even a stock Super Crew doesn't exactly qualify.

Which lift do you have with what tires? Have any pics I could see to compare?

You will notice very little handling change with a leveling kit. I believe your truck will look outstanding with a leveling kit and 33" tires...

Are those 33s on yours? Did you paint your fender flares or is the that flat Black that they come in? How much higher will the truck be with the leveling it and 33s? I'm not sure what size the standard tired are for the FX4. They are the standard Perellis.

I did a 2.5" level. I think the 2" levels work better on the 09's than the 2.5" though. I used autosprings 2.5" leveling kit and ended up with closer to 3" of lift. I will either have to run a 3" rear block or 1.5" add a leaf... but not sure if i will actually level out with either. I am running 33x12.5 R20 (305-55-R20).
