Hood & bumper alignment off
Hood & bumper alignment off
Anyone else have this issue? My '09 Platinum's hood is not aligned properly. the front edge right over the headlights doesn't come down far enough - it's about 1/4" - 1/2" too high. I can see where the rear of the hood is a bit higher and could come forward a bit which would probably fix the issue (if you just adjusted the front of the hood downwards, it would be too low along the front sides (hope that makes sense). Also, my front bumper gap between the top of the bumper and front fascia trim is not even from side to side (one side has a larger gap). I had my dealer look at the hood and we went and checked out several other new F-150's on his lot. One was spot on and several others were off - none quite as much as mine though. He suggested I live with it - but it is bugging me every time I look at the truck...that's all I seem to focus on (I know, **** - but I can't help it)
. Anyway, I did loosen the hood/hinge bolts but was a bit hesitant to really pull on the hood too much so I just retightned and let it go for now....anyone else notice this kind of thing?

The fit of the panels on the front end of a Platinum seem to be off, at least at the couple I have seen. Maybe your best bet is to let a local body shop check it out and see if they can fix it (and the cost for doing so).
