solution for guys w/ no backup camera

im sure alot of you like me wish you opted for the camera, well according to edge they are coming out with 2 new versions of the edge, one being a 4.3 inch full color touchscreen model....they said it will have a video input for use with their exclusive backup camera (sold separately) or any other aftermarket camera..it will obviously cost more but you get a programmer, gauge display and now a rear camera all in a nice set up...they said it will come out later this year or early next year...

That sounds like a cool option. I have the navigation with bu camera on my FX4 and love it. The only downfall in my mind is the inability to turn the camera on whenever you like. I had an aftermarket unit in my last vehicle that I could turn on whenever I liked to keep an eye on my trailer. Not a major deal but it was a nice option.

here is the link for the edge cts (touchscreen version) and the backup camera....it says the edge will accept other aftermarket cameras....will the stock ford oval camera work with the edge? are the wires compatible?

Sweet. I would like to add a second camera to the front of my truck for parking. I kind of wish these trucks had the sensors on the front like the toyotas do. I find myself backing in at the grocery store because of the rear camera.

Also if that sync lockpic ever comes out it claims to allow you to view your camera at any time, or add a second one.
