Hey guys,

Anyone know of any good credit unions offering low rates for new car purchases?

I live in California.

Thanks!

First tech credit union was by the far the cheapest I could find. They financed me for 84 months at 3.99%. easy money so I took the longer term.

Nice! Does First Tech require anything to become a member?

Naw, the finance guy at the dealer gave me the contract to fill out. It was pretty painless.

I want to do this but Ford says I have to wait 90 days or I will have to pay back the rebate.

I am up in Wa state. I would call them. I have never even been into a branch.

Fill out an app, send in 5 bucks to start your savings and get pre approved. Take in the letter and let your finance guy handle it... /shrug

Maybe Cali is different then Wa?

SLIMCUBBY what ford is telling you is b.s. i refied mine 2 weeks after ford motor credit financed the truck its probably the dealer that's telling you that ask to have them show you this in your contract if they cant take the 1000 extra rebate and refi i did it they just tell you that so they get a commission from ford.

I got 5.99% 72 months through the dealership. I think thats so so.. Would rather something lower but then again that is much lower than the truck that I just sold which was at 8.99%!

Picking up my new truck tomorrow after work!!!

To the poster above - you do not have to keep the ford motor credit financing for 90 days. I bought a truck last night and the finance guy told me I could refinance it next week if I wanted to. He did say that if I did refinance within 90 days that the dealership would get a charge-back from Ford...this is why your dealer is probably telling you that. But ask them to show you where in the FMC financing documentation that is says you must keep it for 90 days.
